About Eagle and Serpent

Hail and welcome!

I’m ‘Serpent’. This is my second blog, which my partner (that’s ‘Eagle’) and I decided to create together. We want to share our spiritual experiences and the knowledge that we have gained, and will be gaining, in our inner journeys. So many amazing things happen when we connect to the spiritual side of ourselves, that we both thought it worthy of a blog. Also, I wanted a place to connect with other people interested in the spiritual side of life, to share and compare experiences, feelings and thoughts on this topic.

I am a Reiki Master, am interested in exploring the art of Shamanic practice. I am a pagan, who also loves Buddhist philosophy and practice, as well as having a soft spot for the Hindu goddess Kali and the god Ganesha. I am a creative writer, a mother, and now a multi-blogger! Why ‘Serpent’? Fire serpent is the other name for the ‘Raku’ symbol in Reiki: the opening of the Kundalini energy. As well as this, Snake was the first Spirit Animal Guide that appeared to me, so it seems a fitting name for this blog.

Now allow me to hand you over to ‘eagle’, a.k.a Neometheus…

Hail and well met!

Before I met Serpent I would have called myself a Buddist (and still do), I would also have called myself and atheist which I no longer can. I trained for years as a scientist and although I was philosophically prepared to accept the existance of the spiritual it was not until Serpent attuned me to Reiki that this became a substantial part of my life. Since then Serpent has trained and attuned me to the level of Reiki master and introduced me to Paganism which I have adopted with gusto. Together we are now exploring Paganism, Reiki, Shamanism, divination, rituals and many other interestring topics.

As with Serpent my original Spirit Guide was an Eagle, hence our choice of blog name. Combined together the energies of Snake and Eagle form a Feathered Serpent analagous with the Mesoamerican Gods Quetzalcoatl, Kukulkan and Q’uq’umatz, who are the bringer of knowledge, divine messenger and creator of the cosmos respectively.

I hope you find our journeys of exploration as interesting, humbling and exciting as we do!

Blessings be,

Eagle and Serpent

  1. I had to giggle at the synchronicity of life once again. As I was reading your creative writing blog I noticed the link here, and the title…
Which is what made me giggle.
just last night a (fire red) serpent of sorts & eagle came to me in the dreaming realm – though they have offered their guidance throughout other dreams they hadn’t shown up in the same dream before!
I’ve been pondering the different layers of this dream all day and then, viola! I found my way here.
Wonderful writings, on both sites – thank you both for sharing as you do!

  6. Hail and Salam! Great to be here. I had a vision, more a lucid dream, when taking part in a Mayan ritual in Guatemala. I was an eagle, soaring around lago atitlan for a seeming eternity. When I returned to this realm, I spoke to the shaman diego and asked him about the experience, he suggested that it was my inner Toucan calling!? I thought I was an eagle, but actually I was a toucan. Makes perfect sense really. I look forward to sharing more of your magical space. Peace and love, lee

    • Hail Lee and welcome πŸ™‚
Wow, that sounds amazing – how did the shaman know it was a Toucan if you thought it was an eagle?
And do you know what ‘Toucan’ symbolises?
      Thank you for sharing.
      Blessings be x

  7. …Interesting! I have enjoyed reading so far & will be back for more πŸ˜‰

  8. Nice and interesting blog! Thanks for following “Known is a drop, Unknown is an Ocean”. πŸ™‚

Serpent and Eagle reminds me the awakening of Kundalini Energy as you mentioned. You check out more on this at http://arganesh3.wordpress.com/2012/12/14/kundalini-influence-across-the-world/

    • Thanks for the link, Ganesh πŸ™‚
Snake is a powerful symbol, with many meanings across many cultures – kundalini is a great representation… maybe Neometheus will post about when his Kundalini opened.
And I will post about how Snake became my Spirit animal guide and what She means to me.
      Blessings be
