I am aware that is a long time between each of my posts – much longer than I actually want it to be. There are so many things I want to share with you, so much I want to say – yet my time is currently taken up with many other projects and life events.
I had intended to write a different post today, sharing how I currently feel and what I am doing -exciting times indeed, for me at least! However, that will have to wait, as I instead want to share with you an AMAZING experience that I was privileged to be a part of.
Facebook can be inane, it can be time-consuming, distracting, and, sometimes, quite frankly, plain rubbish. But it can also be a vehicle for bringing together beautiful groups and amazing, inspiring ideas… and I came across a page and event that was just such a thing. Here is my story:
On Thursday I experienced something wonderful, beautiful and very special: for the first time, I received distant Reiki healing – not from just one person, but about a thousand.
What was this? How did it happen? What did it feel like?
I joined a facebook group that had been set up as a mass global intent to send Reiki healing to whoever asked for it on the page, at the same time on a set date. The page gained momentum, with a thousand healers joining in and thousands of people asking to receive the healing. I participated as a healer, and each healer also received the Reiki energy from each other. The lady who began this project was surprised and very pleased with the success of the page – she really had not expected it to get so big.
I have given many distant Reiki healings, and the feedback has always been very positive. I know what I experience as the healer, but I was not sure with this event what to expect as a receiver. Knowing how Reiki works, that the healing is able to move through time and space to reach the required person with distant healing, I should not have been surprised by what happened – but I was.
The time was set for 7:30pm. I was keeping an eye on the time, ready to begin a few minutes before to get the energy flowing. Ten minutes or so before this time however, I became aware of a strange feeling: like a pulsing within me, a brightness, an open awareness. It was the sensation of a rushing in the ears – without the sound, and not limited to the ears! I realised at once that some of the healers must have started early. It was a strange feeling, especially as I had not been expecting it at that time, and these feelings, these sensations, arrived within me totally without conscious thought on my part.
I promptly stopped what I was doing and joined in, sending Reiki outwards with the focussed intent of it being received by all had asked within this movement. The ‘movement’ was global, both healers and receivers from all over the world joining together to focus on healing at this time, this moment.
The rush of energy was incredible. I can honestly say I have never felt anything like it. I was surprised, amazed, and awed by the feelings washing over me. I could feel the energy I was sending surging outwards, like a rushing warmth – and at the same time was aware of the energy flowing into me, from all of the other healers. There was so much energy, it was quite intense. I almost felt ‘bowed under’ by the waves coming in. The first 20minutes were particularly intense, as everyone was focussed and ready at the same time, sending together, from every point of the globe. The feeling of connection with others, with strangers, with people not known, was total – this was the opening of the Heart Chakra, and of Spiritual purpose.
There were many images that I saw in mind’s eye as this happened – amazing, spiritually-felt images, and many sensations felt. It was peaceful, contentment, pure bliss…. and a wonderful, amazing thing to be a part of. How did it work? It was, to me, an affirmation of the power of Reiki energy – and how it is enhanced when many people come together with one pure, focussed intent. The direction and feeling of distant Reiki increased immensely with so much focus and so many healers all sending at once. It truly was the most amazing experience.
Since Thursday, the last few days have been very calm and peaceful for me – both without and within. I have been in that ‘Just Be’ place: i.e. no busy mind trying to over-think or running an internal dialogue. No getting stressed because there is too much to do. No extraneous emotions. Everything has just been flowing, simply and naturally. I am just as busy as ever, looking after the children, helping my partner with his current projects, planning and organising my own projects… yet as far as I am concerned there are no obstacles, there are no problems – everything is clear, everything will work out. My body feels healthy and grounded. On Friday I ate a lot – grazing throughout the day, and all good, nourishing food. Usually I am a bit ‘slap-dash’ with the way I eat, not always at regular times or in the way I should. My mind is clear and calm. And I have been aware of thoughts of gratitude for my current position and situation in life – something that is so easy to forget and so often neglected.
Conclusion: – Mass intent Reiki distant healing works wonders! I entered into it because I enjoy giving Reiki, because it good to give back sometimes, and because it looked like an interesting event. I received far more than I ever expected!
Following the success of this event, the lady who set it up has now started a ‘Community Page’ on facebook, for all healers and those wanting to receive Reiki to join, where she will set up regular distant healing events. I have spoken before about the Chakra points on the body – the energy centres that link our physical, mental and spiritual aspects together, and indeed there is a section on the website that explains the Chakras, from the Root Chakra to the Crown. Now I would like to discuss the Hara line, and the further energy centres aligned with this.
The Hara Line Chakras are located in between the major chakra points, along the central line of the body, and I am noticing them more during my Reiki healings. Outside of the body, above the head and below the feet are the Transpersonal Point and the Earth Chakra, respectively. These relate to heavenly Chi and Earth Chi: the energy that we draw in to our bodies from outside of us. When we draw the energy in, down our bodies from the head, this is Universal Heavenly energy, and it is light, clear, and quick-flowing. When we draw energy in, up from the ground, this is grounding or earthly energy, and it is heavier, black, and slower moving.
Working from the top down, at the base of the skull is the Causal Body chakra and is crimson. It is linked with manifestation. This does not yet seem to be fully open and is what I would call expectant: it is there, but is not strong and does not seem to have much impact yet. Next, between the Throat and Heart Chakras is the Thymus Chakra, and is turquoise. It is linked with immunity, and therefore health and protection. This chakra in particular on the Hara line appears to be quite strong, or perhaps open would be a better description. It seems to attract a lot of Reiki energy. It is also known as the High Heart and spiritually it is linked to joy, peace, contentment, connection to humanity.
Next is the Diaphragm Chakra, and is lime green. It is connected to purging toxins, as well as old emotions. Located between the Heart and Solar Plexus Chakras, it links ego/self-will Solar Plexus with self love and compassion Heart. Thus, fully opened, it will open us, the person, up further to knowing and bringing into our lives only that which is good for us. After this is the Hara itself, also known as the Tan or Dan Tien. This is the seat of original Chi and has been known in the east for a long time, especially in such disciplines as Qigong. This is where energy is stored, where we are balanced and is perhaps the most important Hara line Chakra because of this. It is also the strongest. I believe many healers instinctively know about the Tan Tien – for example, I naturally held my hands flat on my belly, in a diamond shape around my navel when working with energy- around the Tan Tien. This is where I feel the energy gathering, and always have done, even before I knew about this energy centre. It is also a comforting place to hold the hands. When the Tan Tien is active, our energy store increases, we can hold more Chi. It also easily connects – and holds – the earth chi and the heavenly chi as they move through the body. This is where the three forces gather and spread outwards; our own energy, heavenly energy, and earth energy.
For me personally, obviously the Tan Tien is extremely active, and is where I always start with self-Reiki, feeling the energy gathering there before I move on to the major chakra positions. The Thymus chakra too seems very active, and is a chakra point I have found myself unintentionally activating – such as nearly-falling asleep with my hand directly over the Thymus chakra, and feeling the Reiki energy flowing, even though I had not intended to do a Reiki self-healing. I have also sensed this chakra when working with clients.
If you work with energy, or meditate, try meditating on the Thymus Chakra to activate it, and sense what it means/feels/sends to you.Heidi.
For some time I have been researching the winding historical trail of the Horned God. This journey has led to many deep and fascinating insights, not the least of which is the identification of the Western Horned God with his Hindu equivalent Lord Shiva. The Harrapan or Indus Valley Civilisation lived along the banks of the Indus river in modern Afghanistan, Pakistan and India between 3300 BC and 1300 BC. Along with ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia this was one of the most advanced societies in world at that time. The Indus script used by these people is still undeciphered, as such their beliefs can only be inferred from archaeological remains. A number of seals have been discovered one of which depicts a horned figure surrounded by animals, the figure possibly has three faces and is seated in what appears to be a yoga pose. There is debate among academics regarding who or what this seal depicts however one interpretation is that the figure is a representation of the god Pashupati. Lord Pashupati or Pashupatinath is an incarnation of Lord Shiva and His name means ‘Protector of Animals’, He is revered by Hindus and is unofficially the patron deity of Nepal. Lord Shiva is an important God to me personally since I believe him to be the origin and source of Reiki as well as the originator of Yoga and the patron God of the arts and sciences.
This is not to mention His metaphysical role within the Trimurti as ‘the transformer and destroyer’, followers of Lord Shiva (Shaivites) believe Him to be the Supreme God or Mahadeva. Lord Shiva is generally acknowledged to be the oldest of the Hindu pantheon, in His earliest forms He was worshipped in his horned form as Pashupati. I have come to believe that the Horned God and Pashupati are one and the same entity. I have a number of reasons for this conclusion which I am not going to cover at this time. However these pictures demonstrate at least the iconographic similarities between Cernunnos (a European Horned god) and the Indus Valley Pashupati.
Recently I have attempted to call upon Pashupati/Horned Shiva during Reiki healings. My reason being that if the Horned Shiva is both the source of Reiki and my primary deity He may lend me aid. The first time I attempted this was when healing myself, I was amazed to feel a slow welling surge of energy. It is difficult to describe the difference between this energy and the usual Reiki energy, whilst Reiki often comes on instantly like a light switch and usually heals over a relatively small area, this Shiva Reiki wells up more slowly but seems to spread further and feels more ‘expansive’ for want of a better word. I soon had permission to try this energy out on Heidi during a healing, she found the experience to be very similar – a great up-welling of energy filling her head with tremendous heat. Despite the volume of energy that is channelled it seems to be just as gentle as a normal Reiki healing. I injured my back at work the following week and asked Heidi to do a healing for me, knowing my affinity for the Horned Shiva she too called upon His aid and was granted it, she described the ‘feel’ of the energy in the same manner as I had experienced it. It is interesting to find that this energy has been lent to both of us, without any kind of initiation or attunement. I would be very much interested to know if this energy is available to adherents of Lord Shiva or the Horned God who are not Reiki attuned, or even to anyone who asks.
These experiences were nothing compared to what was to come. Heidi carried out a distance healing in which she was attacked by an unfriendly entity. Between her, the angels and her spirit guardians she managed to defended herself and the person she was healing and rebuffed the attack. The entity that attacked her was trying to place hooks into her aura, and although these were stopped Heidi asked me to perform a healing on her to make sure none had reached her. When I did this I scanned her aura and found a very small hook had reached into the fringe of her aura. When attempting this sort of healing I make sure to call upon my animal guardians, the Reiki guides and angels for protection and guidance. In this instance I called also upon the aid of the Horned Shiva and asked Him to lend me His strength. After finding the hook and cleansing Heidi’s aura I was guided to grasp the hook and use it like a fishing line to draw in towards me the entity it belongs to. This sounds risky but I have learned to trust such guidance, I started to wind the hook (which appeared to me like a dark filament) around my arm with great speed, which dragged the entity towards me. As the being got close what I can only describe as a great warm wind of energy rose behind me, it felt much like the Shiva healing energy, steady and powerful but gentle. The wind passed around me and pushed against the creature who I was still holding. I was guided to release the filament I had been holding and it snapped back to the creature, the wind of energy then blew the creature into the distance, it seemed like a great space was placed between myself and the entity and it disappeared into the distance, following that a barrier of energy was placed preventing the entity from getting near us again. This whole process took no more than a about twenty seconds, though in retrospect it feels much longer. I knew instinctively that the Horned Shiva had been responsible for the creatures’ ensnarement and banishment, so I gave my thanks and returned my attention to cleansing Heidi’s aura. When I felt the cleansing was complete I again thanked Lord Shiva for his assistance and asked if there was anything we could do to defend against such attacks in the future. To my astonishment I was given a golden trident or trishula which seemed to crackle with some kind of energy, I knew this was the main symbol of Lord Shiva, I instinctively knew that this could be used as both a healing tool and weapon, and that it is an extension of Lord Shiva Himself, I was also given another object, which I could not identify. It looked like a rounded golden barbell that was to be held in the middle, it was channelled that the object could be used like a shield to absorb energy and also to emit powerful bursts of energy when shaken or twisted. Needless to say I was stunned, and shocked, this is the most dramatic and bizarre healing experience I have ever had. After the healing I explained what had happened to Heidi, but I had difficulty believing it, it was so fantastical. Later on that evening I was reading about Lord Shiva, still in a kind of shocked disbelief after what had happened when I saw a picture of Lord Shiva’s drum, the Damaru, I recognised it immediately, it was the other object I had been given. I read in fascination that the Damaru is a kind of double headed drum, common in India which is sacred to Hindus and Buddhists. Apparently the instrument is known as a power drum and is believed to generate spiritual energy when played, its sounds where used as the basis of the Sanskrit language and it is used by Lord Shiva in the Cosmic Dance. Needless to say I was in awe, this is was a confirmation that what had occurred during the healing was not a figment of my imagination. I have not yet had the opportunity to use these gifts during a healing, but I await the opportunity with anticipation.
If before this experience I was drawn to amazing similarities in iconography and function between the Horned God and Pashupati, now I am mesmerised and humbled. This will be a new focus in my ongoing spiritual journey.
Thank you for reading and blessings be,

FROM MY FACEBOOK PAGE: LATEST POST:
What’s the difference between Reiki and Shamanic Reiki? This is a good question, one I have recently pondered.
Having now done a few distant healing sessions, I realised something that I had not known before: that what I do in these sessions is not JUST Reiki – it is Shamanic Reiki.
Reiki is healing with the universal energy, healing the chakras, cleansing negative energy and filling the recipient with self-love; confidence; health; love, and light. It is seeing colours, feeling warmth/cold/tingling, seeing or sensing auras, combining Divine energy and Earth energy.
Shamanic Reiki is to have visions whilst the Reiki is at work, going on an inner quest, talking to Spirit Guardians, the healers’ own and/or the recipient’s. It is receiving and interacting with various images and persons from the universal dimension.
I have also performed psychic surgery, banished ‘spirits’ who have been present but seem to be nothing to do with the person, and spoken the recipients’ guardians.
This Shamanic Reiki was never intentional with me – the intent was always to do a Reiki healing – yet these ‘Journeys’ simply happen… it seems to be an innate working with me. I cannot do a distant healing without Journeying, apparently. It seems as though I have an Inner Shaman.
This does not happen with direct healings. Direct healings may – and do – involve angels and reiki guides, but that is natural & ‘feels’ different. Direct healings are much more focussed on the pure Reiki Light.
There is a saying, one that has been said to me quite often through the years: “When you are ready, a Teacher will appear”. Since my early years I have longed and looked for a Teacher; first for one that would help guide and develop my intuitive, or psychic, abilities, then a bit later for my Wicthcraft practices, and most recently a Shaman. But “my Teacher” has never appeared. Up until now I have always assumed that either I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was, OR that I was just unlucky and looking/being in the wrong places.
Now however, I have come to a different conclusion: that perhaps I don’t need an external Teacher; perhaps I am a solitary learner, and that my Inner Self is my Teacher, that perhaps I should trust my instincts, my own Being, my own Inner Guides and senses more. And not only that, but perhaps I do have Teachers, but not ‘official’ ones, for that is not my path… my partner, for example, is very similar to me yet has slightly different knowledge and different ways of experiencing things… he is a ‘teacher’ to me… and others who I have crossed paths with, not ‘Teaching’, but teaching in a natural, everyday way. I certainly seem to be getting on all right without said Teachers. My progress may be slower, but so far, I believe I’m following the (my) correct path.
I would be interested to hear from other Reiki healers, to understand if this is a common result for Light workers and Reiki healers, or if it is something unique to some individual workers.
And of course, I would be interested to hear anyone else’s views, opinions, suggestions, or queries on this matter.
It is an area that fascinates me. I am not a trained Shaman, not ‘officially’, but I use Shamanic practices in other areas of my life – in fact, I was going on ‘Inner Journeys’ before I realised that it was tied in with Shamanism. It seems to be an inherent part of my Spiritual life.

A few weeks ago, a lovely blogger friend Linda at litebeing Chronicles offered a trade: A distant Reiki Healing session, by me, for an Astrology Report from her. I leapt at the chance.
For me, doing the Distant Healing was a wonderful experience. Reiki energy is always a joy to work with, as it rewards and heals the healer as well as the recipient. Both parties come away feeling calm, content, and in a peaceful state of being. And as it is Universal energy, it can reach anywhere, from anywhere, it does not need direct hands-on healing to work. Distant Healing is just as effective as a direct healing.
I know many people may be sceptical about this, and others may be interested in how it works and what effects are felt. Linda will be posting about her experience soon, so I won’t say anything further just now, but please pop along to her blog, as linked above, to read all about it!
I eagerly await my astrology report, & I will keep you updated of any interesting details!
For further information on Reiki in general, and Distant Reiki Healing, you can visit my website at:
Light & Blessings,
After a lot of hard work I am pleased to announce that my website is now live – Please feel free to visit:
I know many of you will not be based in Norwich, UK, however there is general information re; Reiki, the chakras, and information on distant healing. Please feel free to have a browse and if you have any queries or comments, or you would like to book a Reiki session with me, please do get in touch and I will be happy to help.
Getting my business up and running has been hard work, but I have had wonderful support from my partner, and this is my dream. I am so pleased that it has now come true, and I will carry on working hard to keep the dream alive… because real dreams DO take dedication, commitment, and love.
And I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all my WordPress family who have been with me on this journey, inspired and encouraged me, & I hope your dreams are coming true too!
I will catch up with you all soon, just as soon as I can take the brakes off getting my business sorted!
Well, it’s taken me a while, & the website is still under construction, but my Reiki page on facebook is at last created!
There is a very small link to it on the right hand side of this page (I don’t know why the pic is so small!), entitled ‘Reiki Heidi’. Please feel free to come and have a look. There is not much on there as yet, but I promise you there will be!
The Facebook page is, yes, to promote my new Reiki business, but also to bring together anyone & everyone interested in all things healing, Reiki, chakras, crystals, and so on. I want to create a real community of interested and like-minded people. The page is open to comments and queries, sharing information and experiences.
So whether you are a healer or not, whether you know anything about Reiki or not, whatever country and creed you are from… Be Well Come!
I hope to see you there, and I look forward to this new journey, and the new community and friends I hope to make along the way.
If you are on a new journey, or beginning something different, please do share… I’d love to hear your stories too.
Light & Blessings,
‘Trust’ – Osho Zen Tarot Card
To leap off of the face of the cliff, not knowing what lies beneath you, but trusting that you will fly free.
This card exactly sums up my situation, attitude and behaviour right now. I am standing on the edge of the metaphorical cliff and I have taken the decision that very soon I shall jump.
I returned to work two weeks ago after being off sick for a long time. Last week, I came home from work and thought, ‘I can’t do this anymore’. The job, my job, no longer fits in with my life. It is not my Inner Truth, it does not call to my highest self. It is a lie. And I can no longer live that lie. So, very soon, I am handing in my resignation. I have no other job to go to.
I am, however, working hard to get my Reiki business ready. I will go self-employed, as a Reiki healer. My website is almost finished, Business cards, flyers and leaflets are next on the list, with of course in this day and age, a Facebook page and, quite possibly, another blog.
Although I am working hard to start promoting my Reiki healing, I cannot predict how many clients I will get and therefore my level of income. Therefore our financial situation may suffer. Despite this, my partner is 100% behind me, and, strange though it may seem, I have no doubt that things will work out!
Why? Why do I feel so confident? Because this is what I have wanted to do for a long time. Because I have been unhappy in my job for a long time. Because somewhere inside is a Voice, a Knowing, that this is right. And for no other reason at all.
Stagnation is the enemy of the human condition. It leads to unhappiness, misery, stress, negativity and regression. Change, Transformation, Growth are what strengthens a person and infuses the soul. It’s scary and sometimes painful – but that’s because we are making a change that will take us forward into new territory – and who knows what wonders lie on the other side?
If I don’t jump, I’ll never know. I have to jump – and fly.
For my sanity, my curiosity, my Inner truth, I have to take this leap of faith.
Have you ever taken a leap of faith?
Considering I have ‘the 5 principles of Reiki’ tab, and following on from my last post that I am finally getting my Reiki business up and running, I thought it was about time I explained just what, exactly, Reiki is.
‘Rei’ – Universe/Spirit
‘Ki’ – Life energy
‘Reiki’ – Universal life energy
Reiki is a natural healing energy that is passed from an attuned healer into the recipient, allowing Divine or Universal energy to flow into the person, healing them on every and all levels: the physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual. The healer places their hands on or just above the recipient, at particular points on the head and the body, opens themselves up to the Reiki energy, and allows it to flow through their hands and into the recipient. Often sensations can be felt as the Reiki flows; warmth in that area, or cold, tingling and, in cases of healing physical problems such as sprains, broken bones or other hurts, some pain as the Reiki draws out that pain by increasing the body’s healing process.
Reiki works with the chakra points on the etheric double: our chakras are our energy centres that are linked to our mental and physical well-being. If any chakra point is blocked, it manifests in our physical, mental and emotional health. Reiki works to unblock, cleanse and clear the chakra points, thus drawing out any negative energy that could be affecting us, which in turn heals the rest of us – the way we function in our selves. The chakra points are well known in the east and becoming more accepted here in the west, but it is still a bit of a ‘strange’ phenomenon’ to most people.
There are 7 chakra points in the body:
- The Root (base of the spine), Red – Grounding, physical security
- The Sacral (Just below the belly button area), Orange – Emotions, relationships, sexuality issues, empathy, past feelings, letting go.
- Solar Plexus (Bottom of rib cage), Yellow – Empowerment, confidence, transformation, vitality, men’s power centre
- Heart (heart), Green/pink – Self-love, Compassionate love, opening up.
- Throat (throat), Blue – Emotions, communication.
- 3rd Eye (forehead), Purple – Imagination, Inspiration, Opening up Spiritually, The Inner world, women’s power centre.
- Crown (top of head), White – Open to Spiritual source, the Divine.
Each chakra point also corresponds to the physical parts of the body where they are located. When all the chakra points are clear and open, this is when we are in complete balance and harmony with ourselves. Reiki energy helps to keep us balanced, at peace and calm, because it removes all negative energy that stops us from being/feeling whole.
What Reiki can heal:
To give more specifics, Reiki is great for removing headaches, tiredness, stress and a busy, cluttered mind. It returns us to a calm mental state, clearing out all unnecessary thought, allowing us to see things clearly again.
It also helps with emotional upset – unable to let go of a past issue, or an emotional hurt that we can’t shake ourselves out of.
Physically, Reiki helps the body’s own resources to heal whatever is wrong, speeding up the process – so broken bones, long standing aches and pains, such as back ache, arthritis, shoulder pain and so on.
With regards to more serious illnesses, such as cancer, Reiki CANNOT cure terminal cancer or any terminal illness. It is not a miracle cure, as any Reiki healer with integrity will tell you. What it can do in this case, though, is help to ease the pain felt, and to help the person suffering have a calmer mind, bringing them to a feeling of peace.
Mentally, Reiki can help with depression, stress, thinking patterns.
It is an extremely useful tool that can help to heal many conditions, if we only open ourselves up to it. We have to be open to the energy – i.e. we have to want to be healed, for it to be work. I truly wish for Reiki to become more popular in the world, for everyone to have the benefit of this wonderful gift.
The Reiki symbols:
What sets Reiki apart from other energy healing systems is its use of particular symbols: These symbols each represent a different healing level, and using them appropriately increases the potency of the healing. There is one for physical healing, one for emotional, one for ‘letting go’ and a couple of others. These symbols are used at the healer’s discretion, when they feel the symbol needs to be used. The symbols are drawn in the air by the healer above the recipient, either at the top of the head, or at the point being healed. Sometimes the person being healed can feel these symbols going in – as a sudden rush of energy, an intense feeling, or even like a mini electric shock!
A Reiki healing usually lasts 45-90 minutes, working on the front and back of a person, from the head all the way down the body to the feet. Quite often, the recipient falls asleep, and a Reiki sleep is as refreshing as a 4-6 hour sleep! The recipient often comes out of a Reiki healing feeling calm, refreshed and rejuvenated. In essence – a ‘reset’ has occurred.
Personally, I could relate many wonderful examples of Reiki healing. Every healing is different, and different things happen. This is why it is so hard to quantify, and is still treated with scepticism by many. But if you haven’t tried it – then you cannot dismiss it. I shall leave you with my own favourite and personal example of Reiki:
When I was pregnant with my second child, I would sit in an evening and just send a little Reiki to my baby. My hands would heat up, and I could feel the energy zapping into my womb. Where my baby had been lying quiet or giving the occasional kick before, he suddenly started kicking and wriggling like crazy. And this was every time I sent the Reiki energy through. He seemed to love it – he certainly felt it, I have no doubt about that.
I hope to have my business website up and running soon, I am currently constructing it. I shall let you know when it is finally finished and published.
As ever, any comments and questions are warmly welcomed.
